Built as an officers´ accommodation about 120 years ago, the listed building of the Militärkantine still impresses in the Kreuzbleiche Park. Due to the surrounding chestnuts and the big garden the half-timbered house looks inviting and very special already from the outside. Moreover, it was mentioned as one of the “nicest Swiss hotels” in the hotel guide of the confederate conservation of monuments and historic buildings in 2014. In 2017 the Militärkantine bears the title of the historical hotel of the year. Only a ten minutes’ walk away from the city center of St. Gallen, you benefit from this unique venue when you realize your individual events here. Whether it is a family celebration, a funeral service, a dance party, a banquet, a birthday or a wedding party - every private occasion is carried out completely according to your wishes and ideas. Moreover, you are also in best hands with the realization of business events at ours.

Every event carried out on site is rounded off by a delicious culinary offer. Our glass cabinet is filled up with tasty dishes like Tapa, Mezze and Antipasti before midday and supplies all visitors with a choice of small snacks. At the daily shift, we focus on the simple cuisine which may remind the guests of their mother´s cooking. There is no menu, so you have to listen carefully to the waiter! However, for your personal happening we will plan beforehand what will be served in the course of the day or in evening. Our cooks always use fresh and organic products of regional and seasonal origin preferentially. We conjure your dishes with a lot of imagination and international influence and will be pleased to offer vegetarian, vegan food or special dishes adapted to food intolerances.

Professional conferences on site

The atmospheric and noble architecture of the Militärkantine is also suited for seminars, conferences or smaller presentations or as a place of retreat. Our hall on the 1st floor with an area of 110 sqm offers space for 100 people depending on the seating order. The old kitchen offers room for up to 50 participants on 69 sqm. Of course, you are supported by us with high-quality technology. We provide an overhead projector, a 65-inch-large screen as well as two flip charts with partition walls and paper. The stage light with two floodlights ensures the fitting lighting, a music system with microphone, amplifier, boxes and a mixing desk delivers the right music. The acoustics are excellent in both halls. Wi-Fi access is available in the whole house and we offer the possibility to produce color photocopies and scans of different sizes.

If you book a conference flat rate, then we serve coffee during the breaks and a three-course menu for lunch. Mineral water is available to you throughout the day. For a relaxed night 21 affectionately furnished hotel rooms are available directly above the conference rooms. The parking space on site is limited but it is possible to park the car in the underground car garage of the Kreuzbleiche gym which is located in a distance of approx. 200 m.
